JCCF argues Trudeau shut down Parliament to dodge scandals and a confidence vote, while Trudeaus lawyers admit prorogation is a political tool with “no limits.”
An extremely important factor for the prorogation was to install Carney as the new (unelected) PM; for which there would have been no chance had the non-confidence vote occurred w/out shutting everything down. This is far too significant to overlook. In fact, it may have be the primary reason for prorogation.
The decision has even more consequences. If the judge decides that the Liberals will win the next election and the government lawyers are right, eastern Canada can say good bye to the west, the corruption has gone too far for too long.
OMG. If the Court sides with Trudeau and the Liberals (S)elect Carney, who cannot enter Parliament because he is not an elected MP, he would be able to LEAVE government prorouged because he will have the title of PM without a single vote!!! Could that even happen??? I am freaked out at what is happening in Canada. These people are corrupt thieves who want to shove the Globalist Order down our throats. Carney even said he would declare an economic ‘emergency’ same as Trudeau did during the Convoy, to enable him to have emergency powers.
I may be projecting but, l think most people have had this thought when they feel overwhelmed and events are unfolding faster than one can handle.
Unlike Trudeau however, the rest of us don't have the luxury of hitting the pause button while we try and get our shit together. We are forced to deal with the problem and right the wrongs a.s.a.p. or face the consequences of our mistakes.
Having witnessed the shenanigans of the last 10+ years, l can't bring myself to blame it all on Trudeau. Hear me out.
Every Liberal Party member that somehow decided they needed a new leader to win the next election, should be on trial. They selected Justin Trudeau from the back-waters of BC to be the new face that would excite young Canadians to vote Liberal. The only policy l remember from 2015 was the legalization of marijuana. Mission accomplished!. They had no real plans to revitalize Canada so had to convince us that the Conservatives were dull and boring and, under Trudeau, we the people would elevate Canada onto the global stage and finally be noticed.
I don't need to list everything that has gone wrong or all the ridiculous woke policies that have been forced down our throats but, l do feel we need a reminder that all that glitters is not gold.
The best word l heard to describe JT was "vapid". To blame Trudeau alone for incompetant governance is like blaming Pinnochio for Geppetto's flawed design, broken strings and a very poor show.
Sadly, we hung on too long waiting for the Real Boy to magically appear.
And yet people in this country are so focused on Trump and Musk and blather on about them establishing a neo-fascist state or destroying the constitution when they can’t see what is happening in our own country. Even last year as his support plummeted, every time Trudeau spoke or was quoted, there was a picture of him with that smirk, as if he knew something the rest of us don’t. I told my friends back then that he would attempt to do something to stay, even go so far as to declare some sort of emergency.
Sometimes I hate being right but every action, every reaction was there for all to see. The left is scrambling really hard to maintain control in both of our countries. The outcome is not going to be good.
The case comes at an awkward time for the court. If they predict a Liberal win in the next election, then they can decide that the government's lawyer was correct, and there are no limits on prorogation. But if they think it will be a Conservative win, then they will determine that prorogation can't be used for purely political motives.
Ugh. Everyone I read this again I get incensed that the idiot child Trudeau keeps on trying to destroy Canada remaking it in his frat boy mind as a post national state et. Grrrr!
Irony is that Canada is teetering on the brink, reliant on one man, a judge, ( with all the gravitas that implies) to make the right decision.
Obvious. But not a given result
I detest Trudeau and all he represents. Sycophants included.
Thank you to JCCF for bringing this forward! Let’s pray for the democratic judgement, for Canada’s sake.
Spot on! Fitting that’s it’s on the anniversary of the EA.
This is a gross attack at our rights as a nation. Being held by a tyrant!
That is a fine article, Dan. The JCCF does excellent work,

“His defenders in the media” could read, his employees in the media.

Blistering read, don't know how you keep it together. I mean, it makes my blood boil. Great article!

With the Liberals in charge parliament is a sham.
Great article Dan. Well laid out for all to read and appreciate. We can hope for a parliamentary recall and a successful non-confidence vote !
Bring on the election !
