Carney ask: who do you think is most suited to deal with Trump?

People replied: Pierre Poilievre

Carney ask: who is the mature adult in the room?

People replied: Pierre Poilievre

Carney said: I will fight Trump's tariff with reciprocal tariff!

People said: No, you wont.

Fingers crossed next election a candidate with an Oxford degree doesn’t win the chair and the guy who drew thousands of ordinary hard working authentic Canadians does.

For me this is the salient point of this article.

"Here’s the truth the Liberals don’t want to admit: they’re mad that Canada doesn’t have a homegrown Amazon, Twitter, Uber, or Netflix—but they wouldn't know what to do with one if they did. Why? Because the second it got big, they’d tax it to oblivion."

Correct Dan!👍

WHY does Trump BELIEVE that MJC is not like JT, MJC and Freeland were in cahoots and still are playing GAMES with USA. Why doesnt TRUMP call Carney Governor, he and FREELAND are still co-conspirators against USA, the MEMBERS in Carney's Carnival is really no different than JT, just changed the merry-go-round, or roulette wheel, step right up for a free spin!!!

After this many stumbles, disasters, misfires, after such repeated displays of ineptitude & arrogance why hasn't there been a House Vote of Non-Confidence? Why hasn't a new election been called? Why is this carnival Carney clown still being allowed to face-plant the Canadian economy in one shit-pile after another? We need him gone.

If a new election were held now the Libs would get a majority. The biggest problem isn't even the gov't anymore; it's the people.

This generalization makes me angry!!

“Boomers” in Alberta never voted for this bull crap 💩 yet we’re lumped into comments like yours!! Maybe instead of this kind of generalization you could qualify it by saying “eastern boomers”!!! 😡

Yes, I'm the conservative Boomer in the family as well. But I got the impression gen Z & X etc were largely anti-Liberal. One relation said PP was a career politician while Carney was an outsider with a new perspective. I couldn't argue with that, but PP's merit was in his fierce ethical belief in Canada. Carney's only loyalty is to climate ideology.

The Canadian government has been MIA since last December. We are being ruled by fiat and the bureaucracy.

It seems like this sort of ad hoc reversal of a law passed by Parliament should trigger an immediate recall of Parliament, but no, these days the PMO does whatever it bloody well pleases, and Parliament is an afterthought. The fact that the stupid legislation itself was a product of the PMO is overlooked — in the world of Canadian politics, incompetence doesn’t mean you lose your job!

I had lunch with my 92 year old parents yesterday. They were lifelong Conservative voters, I believe. I KNOW they voted for Carney because of Trump. They won't talk about it. First clue. When I brought up the flip flop on the DST, my dad is convinced that it was a ploy by Carney to get Trump onside and the whole thing was intentional, i.e., Canada never intended to bring in the DST. I cannot think the Liberals and Carney are that politically astute. Are they?

Expand full comment
Rick Gibson's avatar

I don't think they are that astute. I've seen plenty of articles saying they could have paused the DST pending a new trade agreement, rather than cancelling it at the last minute. They caved completely, giving up all remaining leverage, while getting nothing in return.

How do we get die hard Liberal voters to Wake Up. Recognize entrenched entitlement of this deplorable government of cronyism and destructive policies ... And Change Their Vote away from Liberal corrupt Elites to give all of Canada a chance for renewal. Growth and a breath of fresh air. What do they want? 10 more years of betrayal. What are they afraid of. The Trudeau commie regime is now the Carney carnage WEF DESTRUCTION regime. Do we want a future of a free country for our children? If so, we call on All Liberal "loyalists" to shake their heads and give the other guy conservatives a chance to right the ship. Get rid of these Carney globalists and their world order agenda. Do not support his twisted destructive Ill conceived agenda. Do it now. Withdraw your support Now. Help the rest of us to save Canada. The alternative...? Western Canada will increasingly be forced to pursue seperation. Why you ask? For self preservation and the future of our children. Let's destroy Carney the destroyer. STOP YOUR SUPPORT NOW

The Liberals have built a durable franchise out of applying disparate taxation and regulation to various groups and playing them off each other. But it took real arrogance to think they could play the same game with companies’ that have market caps that match out national GDP.

Trump has been in office for so long(counting his first term), yet some people still hasn’t figure out how he do things.

When he does an art of deal on you, the last thing you do is to fight back. Instead, you negotiate.
