We already have energy self reliance, we produce more than we use. Nothing you are saying is inherently wrong. I just think that Pierre Polievre is incapable of being the guy that will navigate us through Trump and what comes after. This is more complicated than a 3 word slogan.

Ok Interprovincial trade… who has control over that the feds (Constitution Act s. 91) or the provinces (Constitution Act s. 92)? You tell me how M. Poilievre deals with this issue, knowing which part of the Constitution Act applies. I don’t care about what rhetoric he used in a speech, let’s talk reality.

Poilievre's solution is to increase trade with the USA to increase our GDP and reach our 2% military target faster. News flash, we are in this horrible predicament because we trade too much with the USA which put us in a vulnerable position. PP wants to increase this trade making us more vulnerable? He is out of touch and has no idea what he is blathering about. He is out of touch with Canadians who have shown either their boycotting of American products, produce and travel that they want to distance themselves from Trump. Oh snd Trump wants 5% not 2% now. Just how stupid is PP?
Poilievre should be careful if he pushes the “don’t buy American” narrative because for the most part Canadians’ only other choice is Made in China.

I love this report! I've been waiting since 2015 for a reversal in course. Voters made a huge mistake voting for a boy in a man's suit that has completely squandered Canada's wealth. Poilievre may not have given the complete speach yet but something had to be saved for sometime near election. I think Poilievre has his thumb on the pulse of Canadians and so soon, very soon, I feel this politically maturing man, with a smart woman at his elbow, is going to explode the political landscape and be THE MAN Canada so desperately needs.
When Poilievre is talking about Ana's family becoming hard-working refugees from Venezuela, I'm surprised he never mentions how the USA & CIA have interfered in Venezuelan elections and have made several unsuccessful coup d'tats. Most recently they attempted to shut Maduro out of their democratic elections.
The US have imposed unbelievable sanctions that have virtually destroyed their economy because America believes is has an exclusive rights on Venezulan oil and gas.
If he's going to talk about the tariff war with the USA, don't you think Canadians deserve to know about Venezuela. And if Trump has plans to re-take the Panama Canal to prevent Chinese trade, shouldn't Poilievre encourage him to deal with the Darien Gap first? Especially if drugs and illegal immigration is indeed Trumps priority.
I am really beginning to question whether Poilievre even has a Foreign Policy or, if he'll just continue doing whatever Washington tells us to do?

After reading all the comments I am reminded that I shouldn't be to optimistic-Canadians are still hopelessly ill informed and bitterly divided. Hard not to be black pilled.
One thing I know about Pierre…he is not afraid and he is never without a strategy. If he leaves something out there is a reason for it. Expect the other half of the 1 - 2 punch when it will be most effective and counts the most. I have full faith in Pierre.

1. He wants to build a base in the Arctic...who will build it? Who will man it? Unaccompanied soldiers or families too? What about the tundra? The Inuit? The delicate environment? Goof comes to mind. 2. Mexico sends troops to the border. PP wants to do the same...only ours has been demiliartized since 1867. What would these soldiers do on our quiet isolated border?
3.He says he wants to increase trade with the USA so we can raise our GDP and be able to reach our 2% military commitment faster. Newsflash. We got in this vulnerable position at the whim of madman in Washington by having too much trade with the States. Has PP not noticed Canadians speaking with their wallets by boycotting USA hoods, produce and travel?
